As Peter and Bryan take some much-needed summer rest, they reintroduce an interview from the HWYRT archives for the first Summer Rewind of 2017:

They discuss the connection between running and spirituality, how Fr. Horan heard the call to be a Franciscan and a runner, and the proper footwear to go with a wool habit. Plus, a new “App That Up” recommendation.

He serves on the Boston Athletic Association Board of Governors and the Advisory Board for Back on My Feet Boston, and he manages RunBoston, a company that provides historical running tours in Boston. Bryan and Peter get Wayne to give them the lowdown on the benefits of running a “daily dime,” find out what happened the first time Wayne attempted to run the Boston Marathon, and go in-depth on ways to avoid injury. Plus, Peter provides an update on Week 4 of the Clyde Army Countdown.

The Run-in-Place Party and Podcast Extravaganza was an event like no other. As a snowstorm raged outside, HWYRT joined forces with Coach Dan Fitzgerald and his team at the Heartbreak Hill Running Company for running, shopping, beer drinking, and, of course, podcasting. Partygoers mingled and tried out the amazing treadmill classes, while Bryan and Peter talked with new and experienced runners about how they train, the races they've run, and what they have planned next. The night ended with a raffle that helped two runners add over $1,000 to benefit their Boston Marathon charity running teams.
